Sugarizer is a learning platform for children aged 6 to 12. It brings the Sugar learning environment, developed for the One Laptop per Child project, to web browsers and devices. Instead of separate apps, Sugarizer offers "activities" with its own interface designed for children, and a Journal that automatically keeps a history of what a child does. Collaboration is central: with a Sugarizer Server, pupils and teachers can share activities. Schools can host that server themselves, for example with Docker.
Sugarizer is released under the Apache License 2.0. The copyright is credited to the lead developer, Sugar Labs Inc. and contributors; the lead developer's public profile lists France, and the French association OLPC France names Sugarizer among its projects. The website says the software contains no advertising or tracking tools and complies with the GDPR. Whoever runs the server themselves keeps pupil data on their own infrastructure.
