The Roku Channel is an ad-supported streaming television service from Roku, with optional subscriptions added on top. The service launched in the United States in 2017 and has since been offered in Canada, the United Kingdom and Mexico. At its UK launch it was available on Roku devices and TVs and on partner platforms such as Sky Q.
Roku, Inc. is headquartered in San Jose, California, and therefore falls under US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. The service pages state no hosting regions or GDPR commitments; data is assumed to be held in the US. For European organisations the service is mainly relevant as a consumer-facing media service rather than a business platform. Anyone using it anyway, for example on screens in an office or hospitality venue, should check the privacy terms and its availability in their own country.
