Tradeshift is a cloud-based business network and platform for purchase-to-pay automation, with a focus on e-invoicing and accounts payable automation. It captures invoices from multiple sources, extracts and validates data, performs multi-way matching, routes approvals and keeps an audit trail. It also manages e-invoicing compliance in many countries and describes itself as a certified Peppol Access Point. Further offerings include virtual cards, a B2B marketplace and EDI integration. It is aimed at finance and procurement teams of large organisations and their suppliers.
Tradeshift was founded in 2010 in Copenhagen and has been headquartered in San Francisco since 2012. The company is privately held, and the sources reviewed name no single controlling owner; HSBC invested in 2023 and joined the board. According to Tradeshift's own documentation, the platform for customers outside China is primarily hosted on AWS in the Ireland region, although integrated services may run in other countries. For a European organisation, the US headquarters is relevant to CLOUD Act exposure, while the main hosting location is within the EU.
