Trinka AI is a writing assistant for academic and technical writing. It checks grammar and language, proofreads files, paraphrases text, checks citation styles such as APA and IEEE, and offers plagiarism and AI-content detection and translation. Students, researchers, publishers, universities and companies use it. Trinka is delivered as a cloud web app, Word add-ins, a Windows app, browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and an API/SDK. For organisations, the vendor also lists on-premise and offline grammar-checker offerings.
According to the vendor, Trinka was engineered in India and is run by Crimson Interactive, the group behind Enago, which has an office in Mumbai. The provider is therefore not headquartered in the EU. The website does not state where data is hosted. Under its Confidential Data Plan, the vendor says no data is stored on Trinka's servers and none is used for AI training. The software is not open source. A European organisation should settle the hosting location and the on-premise option contractually.
