Wavebox is a desktop browser for business use, built on the Chromium engine. It lets users stay signed in to several accounts at once, organises tabs into workspaces, supports split screens and runs extensions from the Chrome Web Store. A built-in AI assistant can be switched off. Wavebox is available for Windows, macOS and Linux; Wavebox Live is a remotely managed variant for teams in which, according to the company, team passwords are protected by an end-to-end encrypted master password.
The vendor is Bookry Ltd, registered in England and Wales with its office in Bangor in the United Kingdom, and therefore outside the EU. According to its privacy policy, the company has offices and hosting facilities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and the United States; sensitive data stays on the user's computer. Standard contractual clauses are cited for transfers outside the EEA. The source code is not public. European organisations should check which data leaves the devices through Wavebox Live and the AI features.
