WeFact: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

WeFact is online invoicing and administration software for freelancers, small and medium-sized businesses, company directors and accountants, who get a dedicated accountant environment. You create quotes and invoices in your own branding, work with recurring invoices and subscriptions, process purchase invoices, including by scanning and recognising receipts, and connect your bank via PSD2. It also offers stock management, a simple CRM function, e-invoicing via Peppol, an API, integrations with accounting packages and webshops, and mobile apps for iOS and Android.

WeFact B.V. is located in Eersel, the Netherlands. Visma, a Norwegian software group, acquired WeFact; since 1 September 2026 WeFact, Yuki, Nmbrs and Visionplanner continue together under the name Nmbrs. The sources consulted do not state where the data is hosted. For a European organisation, what matters is that control lies with a Norwegian group, itself mostly owned by an investor, and that you should ask the vendor about hosting location and subprocessors.

Why digital sovereignty matters with WeFact

WeFact is headquartered in NL and therefore falls under European law: the GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act. No foreign legislation can compel access to your data. The ultimate owner is based in NO, also within Europe.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so WeFact scores best on data residency.

WeFact is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs WeFact together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
