BeyondTrust is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia (US) and is owned by the investment firm Francisco Partners, which acquired Bomgar in 2018; that company was then renamed BeyondTrust. As a US company it can fall under US legislation such as the CLOUD Act. According to BeyondTrust's documentation, its cloud products run in regions including Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland (Entitle) and the US; existing standalone cloud products are also offered in France, Switzerland and Northern Europe. A European organisation can therefore choose a region outside the US, but the owner remains American. The software is proprietary.
