DocWay is web-based software for document management, electronic registry (protocollo) and workflow, aimed at public bodies and companies. It covers the whole document lifecycle: dossiers and folders, records management compatible with MoReq2, content management, handling of PEC and e-mail, digital signatures, workflows, and interfaces to web CMS and digital preservation systems. It is delivered as server software that the organisation installs itself.
The rights are held by the Italian public body Agenzia delle Entrate-Riscossione, which publishes the source code on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0-or-later licence. Maintenance and development are carried out by 3D Informatica srl of San Lazzaro di Savena near Bologna, Italy, which says it has developed DocWay since 1998 and also offers support and services around the product. Because you can run DocWay on your own servers, your documents stay under your own control. 3D Informatica also offers DocWay as a SaaS service called DocWay Cloud; its hosting location is not stated in the sources consulted.
