Eclipse LMOS (Language Model Operating System) is an open-source platform for building, deploying and running multi-agent AI systems. It routes requests to specialised agents, supports versioning, rollout and rollback of agents, and is built on Kubernetes and W3C Web of Things standards. Its components include a router, a runtime for conversation handling in multi-tenant environments, an operator and ARC, a Kotlin DSL for writing agents. The platform originated at Deutsche Telekom and is now an incubating project of the Eclipse Foundation.
The project is hosted by the Eclipse Foundation AISBL, a non-profit organisation based in Brussels, Belgium, and is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. It is designed to run in the cloud or on-premises, so organisations can operate it on their own or a European provider's Kubernetes infrastructure and decide where data stays. As a platform you run yourself, LMOS does not process data in a vendor cloud; the language models behind the agents are chosen by the operator.
