Open ePlatform: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Open ePlatform is a platform that lets organisations build and publish their own e-services. It works in a web browser, lets you adapt the interface to your own graphic profile and supports custom functions, usage statistics and case handling. Through a portal called 'Mina sidor' visitors follow their cases. Open APIs and integrations retrieve data from Swedish public registers. It is server software that organisations install themselves, mainly Swedish municipalities.

Open ePlatform is developed by the Open ePlatform user association, whose members are mainly Swedish municipalities and the Swedish Food Agency. The source code is on GitHub and is open source under the AGPL-3.0 and LGPL-3.0 licences. Suppliers and consultants, such as Nordic Peak and Atherfold, offer services around the platform. Because you can install the software yourself, citizen data and submitted cases stay on your own infrastructure. The association describes no hosted service of its own.
