Automatisch is an open-source workflow automation tool presented as an alternative to Zapier. Users connect web services such as Slack into automated flows without writing code. A flow is built from steps, for example searching for a keyword and posting the results to a chat channel, and it keeps running until you stop it. A cloud service is available, but the software can also be self-hosted, for instance with Docker. The documentation covers installation, advanced configuration and building your own integrations.
The source code is on GitHub. The Community Edition is licensed under AGPL-3.0, while files marked as enterprise fall under a separate commercial licence. The project says it is made in Berlin, Germany. Its main selling point is data control: if you self-host, your data and automation logic stay on servers of your choice, for example within the EU, and dependence on a single vendor is reduced. The website does not say where the managed cloud service runs. Organisations with strict data-location requirements can ask the team or run Automatisch themselves.
