Kestra is an open-source orchestration platform for data, AI and infrastructure workflows. Teams define workflows declaratively in YAML, as code or in a user interface, and trigger them on schedules, events, webhooks or messages. Tasks can run in languages such as Python, Bash, Node.js and Go or in containers, and a large plugin library connects cloud, data, infrastructure and messaging tools. Retries, timeouts, SLAs and audit logs are included. Kestra is delivered as an open-source edition that you self-host on Docker or Kubernetes, as an Enterprise Edition with SSO, multi-tenancy and hybrid deployment across cloud, on-premises and air-gapped environments, and as a managed Kestra Cloud.
The core is published under the Apache License 2.0 by Kestra Technologies, a company founded in 2021 and described in press coverage as French. Self-hosting lets you keep workflow data and execution in infrastructure you choose, including EU data centres or isolated networks. Public sources do not state the hosting region of Kestra Cloud, so confirm it with the vendor if residency matters.
