OVHcloud is a cloud provider offering public cloud services (compute, containers, storage, networking, databases and AI), hosted private cloud based on VMware, Nutanix and SAP HANA, and also VPS, dedicated servers, domain names, web hosting and Microsoft Exchange email. It targets businesses, developers and public bodies and is delivered as a hosted service on infrastructure the company operates itself. Some of its managed database services are based on open-source engines such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and Valkey.
OVHcloud was founded in 1999, is headquartered in Roubaix, France, and is listed on Euronext Paris; its founder, Octave Klaba, is chief executive. The founding Klaba family is the majority shareholder. According to the vendor, it runs datacentres on four continents, including Europe, and holds ISO 27001, ISO 27701, HDS and SecNumCloud certifications for parts of its offer. The platform itself is not open source. For a European organisation this means a provider under French and EU jurisdiction; it is worth checking which region and which certified offer apply to a given workload.
