PhotoPrism is an AI-powered app for browsing, organising and sharing photos and videos. It handles RAW and video formats, detects duplicates, offers combinable search filters, classifies pictures automatically by content and location, recognises faces, plays Live Photos and shows photos on world maps. It can be installed as a progressive web app on phones and desktops and gives WebDAV access to the library. PhotoPrism is mainly self-hosted, for example with Docker on a server, Raspberry Pi or NAS, and it is also available through cloud hosting; its official cloud hosting partner is PikaPods. A PhotoPrism Pro edition is aimed at organisations.
PhotoPrism UG is based in Berlin, Germany, and describes itself as self-funded and independent, with no investors. The community edition is open source under the AGPL-3.0. When you self-host, your photos stay on infrastructure you choose, and the vendor states that data are not shared with Google, Amazon, Microsoft or Apple unless you upload files to their services. The location of the hosted option depends on the hosting partner and is not stated on the vendor's pages.
