PraisonAI is an open-source Python framework (MIT licence) for building AI agents. Agents can research, plan, write code and carry out tasks, and cooperate in multi-agent workflows. The framework offers memory, RAG, guardrails, MCP support and access to many language-model providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and the local Ollama. You use it through the Python SDK, a command-line tool, a no-code YAML configuration or a JavaScript SDK. Agents or their tools can run in external sandboxes such as Docker, E2B, Modal and Daytona.
The project belongs to Mervin Praison, an individual developer; the project pages name no company. No cloud service operated by PraisonAI is described: you install it yourself and decide where it runs and where data stays. As code under an open licence it can be inspected and modified, but there is no vendor offering contractual guarantees or support. If your agent calls external model providers, that processing falls under those providers' jurisdictions; with local models everything stays under your control.
