Scrive is a platform for electronic signing and digital contract management. Organisations use it to send, sign and manage agreements. The portfolio includes eSign Online (a web portal with templates and fill-in forms), an eSign API for integrations, Scrive QES for qualified signatures, and an eID Hub and ID Check for identity verification with European eIDs. Scrive presents itself as a qualified trust service provider under eIDAS. Following its acquisition of the Danish company Contractbook, the platform is expanding into contract management. The service is delivered as SaaS.
Scrive is a Swedish company headquartered in Stockholm, so it operates under European law. Its website lists EU data hosting and ISO 27001 among its credentials. For organisations with a low risk appetite it offers an Extended Compliance variant, where, according to Scrive, all hosting is provided exclusively by European-owned and European-located entities, with no exposure to US data jurisdiction. Which variant applies is therefore worth fixing in the contract. Scrive publishes an open-source MCP server for AI agents; the platform itself is not open source.
