SIGN8 offers digital signatures and seals that, according to the vendor, comply with eIDAS. The company presents itself as a qualified trust service provider and supplies solutions for both remote and local signing. These run through a cloud signing portal, through local signing with a signing token or, for organisations that manage their own digital certificates, through an on-premises option. It also provides signing APIs, S/MIME with bring your own key (BYOK), and solutions for the EUDI Wallet and digital product passports. The vendor says its technology is developed in-house.
SIGN8 GmbH is headquartered in Munich, Germany, with a second location in Oldenburg, and therefore operates under German and European law. Its website does not name a foreign parent company. It also does not state in which region the cloud service is hosted, so organisations that need this information should ask the vendor. The on-premises option and customer-managed keys (BYOK) can give organisations more control over certificates and keys. SIGN8 is not open source.
