Solvinity: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Solvinity is a Dutch provider of managed cloud platforms and services, based in Amersfoort. Its offer includes private cloud built on VMware, managed hosting, managed services for Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, and managed security and IT outsourcing services. According to an FTI Consulting release, it provides secure managed cloud platforms and services in the Netherlands.

Solvinity is owned by the UK-based investment firm Vitruvian Partners, which according to FTI Consulting was the seller in a sale to the US company Kyndryl announced at the end of 2025. The Dutch authorities have prohibited that takeover, and the shareholders are seeking to have the ban lifted. The public pages reviewed do not state where its data centres are located, so the data location should be fixed in the contract. Its privacy statement refers to the GDPR and names the Dutch Data Protection Authority as the body for complaints.

Why digital sovereignty matters with Solvinity

Solvinity is headquartered in NL and therefore falls under European law: the GDPR, NIS2 and the Data Act. No foreign legislation can compel access to your data. The ultimate owner is based in GB. Foreign control undermines part of the certainty a European headquarters offers.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so Solvinity scores best on data residency.

Solvinity is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs Solvinity together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
