Tune Insight is a federated health data platform developed by Tune Insight SA. It is aimed at hospitals, hospital groups, research networks and the pharmaceutical industry that want to run joint studies without centralising patient data. According to the vendor, the data stays with each participating institution and only encrypted, aggregated results are shared. The platform connects data sources such as SQL, SPARQL, FHIR and DICOM, supports cohort building, preconfigured statistical analyses and custom Python workflows, and uses multiparty homomorphic encryption and differential privacy.
Tune Insight SA is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, at the EPFL Innovation Park. Switzerland is not an EU member but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision. The platform can be deployed on-premises or in a private or public cloud, so you decide where the analysis data resides. According to its privacy policy, the authentication service runs on Microsoft Azure in Zurich and the customer portal on Vercel in Frankfurt. Ask the vendor about the exact deployment and processors involved.
