UBitLink File, also called OS drive or RM drive, is records-management software that makes the Swiss filing plan (Ordnungssystem) usable inside the ordinary Windows file explorer. Documents stay on file shares; dossiers follow a lifecycle based on the eCH-0164 standard and can be closed, made read-only and archived once the retention period has passed. Features also include a multilingual filing structure, Outlook messages attached to a matter and full-text search through a server-side index. The vendor supplies the software alongside consulting on records management and GEVER.
UBit Schweiz AG is headquartered in Winterthur, Switzerland, and its website names no foreign owner. Switzerland is not an EU member but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision. The system runs on an organisation's existing file servers and uses Microsoft Active Directory for security, so the data stays on the organisation's own infrastructure. Hosting at the vendor is not mentioned. The flip side is a dependence on Windows technology. If you expect the vendor to process data on your behalf, clarify this beforehand.
