ZendTo is a web-based system for exchanging large files, aimed at organisations that cannot or do not want to send them by email. You run it yourself on a Linux or Unix server or in a virtualisation environment. According to the project site, it offers encryption of uploads with a user-chosen passphrase, checksums, single-use download links, chunked uploads for large files, and integration with Active Directory, OAuth, SAML, LDAP or IMAP.
ZendTo is developed by a single individual developer in the United Kingdom, without a company or foundation behind it. According to the Comptoir du Libre catalogue it is licensed under the GNU GPL v2; the project site itself names no licence. The latest release consulted is 6.15-8 from June 2025. The developer states that commercial support is not available, and there is no hosted service. Because you run the software on your own server, files and metadata stay on your own infrastructure.
