Zoiper is a SIP softphone for voice and video calls. It is installed as an application on the user's own devices, including mobile devices, and connects to SIP-based telephone systems and providers. It is proprietary software and not a hosted service. The vendor describes TLS, SRTP and ZRTP encryption for voice and video where the server or service provider supports it.
Zoiper is developed by Securax EOOD, a company organised under Bulgarian law with its registered office in Sofia, so the publisher is established in the European Union. Its terms are governed by Bulgarian law, with disputes handled by the competent court in Sofia. According to the privacy policy, Securax is the data controller for its website and software, processes personal data on its own or leased technical means located in Bulgaria, and refers to the GDPR. Calls themselves go through the SIP server or provider that the organisation connects, so the data-processing terms of that provider matter as well.
