Azure Logic Apps is a Microsoft cloud service for automating business processes and connecting systems, applications and data across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments. You build workflows visually, with more than 1,400 prebuilt connectors and your own code in languages such as JavaScript, .NET, C# and PowerShell. The platform also supports B2B messaging with EDI standards such as AS2, EDIFACT and X12, and workflows that use AI agents. It is delivered as a multitenant service (Consumption) or a single-tenant variant (Standard), including on your own infrastructure through hybrid deployment.
Logic Apps is provided by Microsoft, a US company, and therefore falls under US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. With Standard workflows, data stays in the region where you deploy; with Consumption, data is replicated to the paired region. Workflows that use AI agents rely on Azure OpenAI models that can originate from any region, so data residency is not guaranteed there. Microsoft publishes a data protection addendum. A European organisation that wants its integrations under its own control can consider open-source orchestration tools.
