flop!: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

flop! is free software for cooperative timetable management and automatic timetable generation. Through a web application, users enter their preferences and constraints and can modify the timetable within rules the group has agreed on. A generator then looks for a timetable that satisfies the constraints and maximises overall satisfaction, using mixed-integer linear programming solvers. The software targets educational institutions; a version for cooperative professional teams is being prepared. It is a Django application with PostgreSQL, optionally Redis, which you install on your own server.

flop! is licensed under the AGPL v3. According to the project, the 0.x series is no longer actively developed; the rewritten 1.x edition is still in development. The project received support from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and from the NGI0 Commons Fund through NLnet. Because you host it yourself, timetables and preferences stay on your own infrastructure; no hosted service run by the makers was found.
