Harvester is an open-source hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platform for bare-metal servers. It combines Linux, KVM, Kubernetes, KubeVirt and Longhorn to run virtual machines and cloud-native workloads in data centres and at the edge, managed from a single console. Capabilities include virtual machine lifecycle management, live migration between hosts, backup and restore to NFS or S3 targets, distributed block storage and VLAN networking. It is installed directly on the servers from an ISO or through iPXE.

Harvester is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 and is a SUSE project. SUSE S.A. is headquartered in Luxembourg and owned by EQT AB, which acquired it in 2019 and remained majority shareholder after the 2021 listing; SUSE was delisted from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in 2023. Harvester is not a hosted service: it runs on hardware the organisation chooses, so the location of data depends on where those servers stand.
