Kubermatic provides software for managing Kubernetes at scale. Its main product, the Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform (KKP), centrally automates the lifecycle of many clusters across multi-cloud, on-premises and edge environments. The company also offers KubeLB for load balancing, Kubermatic Virtualization for running virtual machines on Kubernetes, a developer platform with a service catalogue, a secrets management tool and an offering for shared GPU-based AI services. KKP is available as a Community Edition under the Apache 2.0 licence and as a subscription-based Enterprise Edition with official support.
Kubermatic is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded in 2016 as Loodse and renamed in 2020, and the company holds ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications. The platform manages clusters on infrastructure you choose, so where data sits depends on the providers and regions you connect, including EU ones. The open source edition lets European organisations run and inspect the core platform themselves.
