Insider One: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Insider One, the new name since December 2025 of the platform previously called Insider, is an AI-driven customer engagement platform. It combines customer data management, personalisation, journey orchestration and analytics, with channels such as web, email, mobile app, web push, WhatsApp, SMS/RCS and conversational messaging. It is delivered as software as a service and is aimed at brands with large customer bases in retail, financial services, travel and similar sectors.

According to published profiles, Insider was founded in Istanbul in 2012 and is headquartered in Singapore; its privacy policy names a Turkish company as controller, together with group entities in several countries. Insider One states that the data it collects is stored in an AWS facility in Dublin, Ireland, available to all customers who want their data kept within the territorial scope of the GDPR. The policy also states that data is transferred outside the EEA, including to Turkey. The product is proprietary. A European organisation should confirm in its contract which hosting region applies and which group entities may access the data.

Why digital sovereignty matters with Insider One

Insider One is headquartered in SG, outside the EU. Contracts and data therefore also fall under non-European law. The GDPR applies through contractual terms, but in a conflict with local legislation you have less certainty than with a European vendor.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so Insider One scores best on data residency.

Insider One is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs Insider One together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
