Koko Analytics: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Koko Analytics is a lightweight WordPress plugin for website statistics, positioned as a privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics. The plugin uses no cookies and shows no consent banner. The plugin reports pageviews, traffic sources, unique visitors and real-time visitors. Koko Analytics runs entirely inside your own WordPress installation and is free software under the GPL, the same licence as WordPress itself.

The plugin is maintained by ibericode BV, a Dutch company based in Nijmegen. There is no vendor cloud: the statistics are stored in your own WordPress database, and according to the vendor no data is shared with third-party services and the plugin makes no external requests. Where the data resides therefore depends on where you host your website. For a European organisation, this means you keep control over storage and jurisdiction, with no dependence on a non-European analytics service.
