narrowin Explorer discovers and documents the live network in IT and OT environments. It queries switches, routers and firewalls over SSH, SNMP and REST, without agents, sensors or SPAN ports, and builds a vendor-agnostic inventory, interactive topology maps, spanning-tree analysis, health checks and daily snapshots that show what has changed. It also manages configuration backups with git-based history, security zones and VLANs, and offers a REST API. An optional Endpoint Agent adds host details. Users sign in locally or through SAML SSO, LDAP or Active Directory. It is installed as a virtual machine (VMware, Proxmox, ESXi), on narrowin hardware or on a laptop.
Explorer is made by narrowin GmbH in Liestal, Switzerland, a university spin-off; no foreign parent company is stated. According to the vendor, Explorer runs on-premises only, so network data stays on the customer's own infrastructure and no vendor-operated cloud is involved. Switzerland is not in the EU but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision.
