Checkmk is a monitoring and observability platform for hybrid IT. It discovers and monitors infrastructure, applications and user experience across cloud and on-premises environments, and integrates with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira and Slack. It comes in four editions: Community, Pro and Ultimate are self-hosted, with an optional virtual or physical appliance, while Cloud is a managed SaaS edition. The server runs on Linux or as a Docker container, and agents exist for many operating systems.

Checkmk GmbH is headquartered in Munich, Germany. The Community edition is open source, mainly under GPLv2, while the commercial editions use a proprietary licence. In February 2025 Checkmk announced a strategic investment from the growth equity firm PSG Equity; the announcement does not state the size of the stake. The self-hosted editions let an organisation keep monitoring data in its own infrastructure, whereas the Cloud edition is operated by the vendor.
