newdle is a web tool that simplifies finding the best time for a meeting or event. Organisers propose several possible slots and share a link; participants mark the times that suit them, without needing an account. The tool can fetch free/busy information directly from Exchange servers, so everyone sees at a glance who is available when. According to the project, support for further calendar providers and a link for creating the final event in Indico are in development. newdle is server software that you run yourself.
It is developed by the Indico team at CERN, the European intergovernmental organisation for nuclear research near Geneva, as part of the MALT project. CERN holds the copyright, and the code is available under the MIT licence. Because newdle can be installed on your own infrastructure, calendar data and participants' answers stay with your own organisation. There is no vendor cloud that processes the data. The project is listed in openCode, the German public sector's software directory.
