Nextcloud Tasks: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Nextcloud Tasks is a task management app for Nextcloud. Users add, edit and delete tasks with a title, description, start and due dates, priority and status, create subtasks, and use smart collections for important, current and upcoming tasks. Tasks can be dragged between calendars. The app syncs through CalDAV, so clients such as Apple Reminders, DAVx5, Thunderbird, jtx Board and others can connect to it. It is enabled from the Organization category of the Nextcloud app store within an existing Nextcloud instance.

Tasks is listed in the Nextcloud app store under its developer Raimund Schlüßler and is licensed under AGPL-3.0. It runs on Nextcloud, an open-source platform from Nextcloud GmbH, whose legal address is in Stuttgart, Germany. Tasks are stored in the Nextcloud instance that the organisation uses, on its own servers or with a European hosting provider it selects, so the organisation decides where the data lives and who can access it. Because CalDAV is an open standard, tasks are not tied to one client.
