Password Depot is a password manager from AceBIT GmbH in Darmstadt, Germany, which says it has developed the software since 1998. There is a Personal edition for individuals and families (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android) and a Business edition for teams. The Enterprise Server supports integration with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, role-based access down to individual entries, audit logs and a REST API. Besides passwords it can store TOTP codes, SSH keys, certificates, API tokens and files. Data is encrypted with AES-256.

The vendor is based in the EU. According to the vendor, the software can run on-premises in your own data centre, in your own Azure tenant, locally on clients or in a hybrid setup, including without a vendor cloud. You therefore decide where the data resides; if you choose Azure, that provider's jurisdiction applies to it. The software is not open source. AceBIT's information security management system is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified by TÜV NORD.
