Pfeffersack is Swiss accounting software for self-employed people and small businesses. You record expenses, income and invoices, including Swiss QR invoices, and prepare the documents for your tax return. A GmbH can use double-entry bookkeeping with a chart of accounts, balance sheet and income statement. The package also offers VAT settlement, bank import, AI-assisted booking suggestions and access for your trustee. It is a web application that can also be installed as an app.
Pfeffersack is run by a sole proprietorship in Switzerland. According to its imprint and privacy policy, the database and receipts are stored in Switzerland, while the application runs in a German data centre of a hosting provider headquartered in the US. All requests, including their content, also pass through a US delivery and attack-protection provider. Under the CLOUD Act, US authorities can also request data stored in Europe. Receipts are recognised, per the vendor, by its own AI model in Switzerland. Switzerland is not in the EU but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision.
