Remote Utilities is remote desktop software for viewing and controlling another computer's screen, keyboard and mouse. A Viewer on the controlling PC connects to a Host on the remote computer for unattended access, while an Agent module supports spontaneous support sessions without installation or administrator rights. Connections use an IP address or Internet ID, and modes include full control, view only, file transfer, terminal, screen recording and voice or video chat. The Host runs on Windows; the Viewer is also available for macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. It is delivered as installed software.
The developer is listed as Remote Utilities Pty (Cy) Ltd, formerly Usoris Systems. The software is not open source. RU Server is a self-hosted replacement for the vendor's hosted relay servers, so an organisation can run the connection infrastructure on servers it controls, for example inside the EU. Where the vendor's own relay servers operate should be confirmed with the vendor.
