Xen Orchestra: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Xen Orchestra is a management platform for XCP-ng and XenServer environments. It provides a single web interface for managing pools, hosts, virtual machines, storage and networks across multiple sites, and no agent is needed on the hosts. It also covers backups (full, incremental, replication and immutable backups to targets such as S3, NFS, SMB and Azure), role-based access control, direct import of VMware ESXi machines, a REST API, a command line, and providers for Terraform and Ansible. You can run it as a ready-made appliance (XOA) or install it yourself from source.

Xen Orchestra is built and supported by Vates, a French company based in Grenoble. The source code on GitHub is licensed under AGPL-3.0, so you can host and inspect it entirely yourself. Because it runs on your own infrastructure, you decide where management data and backups are stored, for example inside the EU. Vates also offers paid support for businesses.
