Cisco Meraki sells networking hardware that is configured and monitored from a cloud dashboard: switches, security appliances and Wi-Fi access points. Administrators use one web interface to provision and troubleshoot networks across many locations. The products are proprietary, delivered as hardware with cloud management, and form part of the Cisco portfolio, with Meraki product pages published on Cisco.com.
Cisco Systems is a US company, so Cisco Meraki is subject to US legal process such as the CLOUD Act. Cisco documents an EU Cloud option in which management data for EU-region organisations is stored in EU data centres. However, its configuration guide states that the Primary Controller, which holds some organisation settings and administrator login credentials, sits in US data centres. European organisations with strict residency requirements should weigh that split. Meraki software is not open source.
