Develocity is a commercial toolchain and artifact observability platform from the company behind the Gradle Build Tool (named Gradle Technologies until June 2026, and Gradle Enterprise in earlier versions). It gives engineering teams and AI agents insight into builds, tests and dependencies, and uses that to speed up software delivery. Besides Gradle, it works with Maven, Bazel, npm and sbt, according to the vendor. Develocity is self-hosted, on a Kubernetes cluster or as a single node, in your own or a chosen cloud environment.
The legal entity is Gradle, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California. Because you install Develocity yourself, you decide where build data is stored, for example in an EU region or on premises, including air-gapped setups. The vendor remains a US company, which is relevant for support, licensing and updates. The Gradle Build Tool itself is open source under Apache 2.0; Develocity is not.
