Remote Help is a cloud-based remote support solution within Microsoft Intune. IT support staff (helpers) can connect to a user's device (the sharer) for real-time assistance, with view-only access or full control. Both sides sign in with a Microsoft Entra account from their own organisation, access is governed by role-based access control in Intune, and sessions can be reviewed in reports and audit logs. There are apps for Windows, macOS and Android, plus a web app for users who cannot install software. It requires a separate Remote Help licence on top of Intune Plan 1 or 2.
Microsoft is headquartered in the United States and is subject to US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. According to the documentation, traffic runs over TLS to Microsoft's Remote Assistance Service on Azure; sessions are not recorded and Microsoft cannot see their content. Session metadata is kept for up to 30 days. Microsoft's documentation for this feature contains no explicit GDPR commitment.
