Netdisco is a web-based network management tool. It collects IP and MAC address data into a PostgreSQL database using SNMP, CLI or device APIs. It consists of a web interface, a backend daemon that gathers the data and a command-line interface, and is configured through a YAML file. Netdisco is written in Perl and Python and is also available as Docker images. Network teams use it to discover and map the devices on their network.
Netdisco is released under the BSD-3-Clause licence and developed by a community under the GitHub organisation netdisco; the website names no company or foundation. Recent releases come from a developer whose public profile shows the United States, while another maintainer's profile shows England. You run Netdisco and its PostgreSQL database on your own infrastructure, so the inventory data stays with you. The project does not mention a hosted service.
