Restream is a service for broadcasting one live stream to several platforms at once. Users send a single video signal to Restream, which relays it to the streaming platforms they choose. The company also offers tools around live streams, such as AI-generated clips through an external processor. The service is delivered as a cloud service through the web.
Restream is provided by Restream, Inc., based in Austin, Texas, and is subject to US jurisdiction. Its privacy policy says Restream may process and store data worldwide, using suitable safeguards and recognised transfer mechanisms, and that it acts as data controller for residents of the EEA. Its sub-processor list names Amazon Web Services for hosting in the United States and Europe, along with Google Cloud, Cloudflare and Datadog in the United States, among others. The list does not show where primary hosting takes place or whether an EU-specific option exists. A European organisation would be well advised to ask.
