JS7 JobScheduler is an open-source workload automation product from SOS GmbH (Software- und Organisations-Service) in Berlin. It launches executables, shell scripts and database procedures as workflows. A web-based interface, the JOC Cockpit, handles inventory, monitoring and control, while a controller distributes work to agents that run jobs on remote machines on Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, macOS and other platforms; agentless scheduling over SSH is also possible. JS7 can be installed on premises, run in Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift containers, or combined in hybrid setups, and SOS also offers it as SaaS through a hosting or managed service.
SOS GmbH is based in Berlin, Germany. JS7 is available with open-source licensing and with commercial licences; according to SOS, clustering is subject to the commercial licence, which also adds 24/7 support, long-term support and professional services. Because JS7 can be self-hosted, job definitions and execution history stay in a database on your own infrastructure, so a European organisation can run it entirely within the EU on systems it controls.
