Travis CI is a hosted continuous integration and delivery service that builds, tests and deploys software automatically. Pipelines are defined in a configuration file kept in the code repository and run on Linux, macOS and Windows across several CPU architectures. Travis CI Enterprise is the variant that runs on the organisation's own servers. The company was founded in Berlin in 2011.
Travis CI GmbH was acquired by Idera, Inc. in January 2019. Idera is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and is owned by private-equity investors including HGGC and TA Associates. For a European organisation, the service therefore belongs to a group headquartered in the US, and its ownership structure may change. The vendor's public pages do not state where hosted build data is stored, so the vendor should be asked for data locations and a data processing agreement. The self-hosted Enterprise variant keeps builds on infrastructure the organisation controls.
