Woodpecker CI is an open-source CI/CD engine. Pipelines are defined in workflow files, and each step runs in a container; several workflows can be defined per project and made to depend on each other. Plugins extend what pipelines can do, and a plugin site lists plugins from the core team and the community. The architecture has a server, which provides the web interface and API, handles webhooks from your code forge and parses the pipeline files, and one or more agents that run the workflows using a Docker, Kubernetes or local backend. You run it yourself, using the published container images.
Woodpecker CI is released under the Apache 2.0 licence and developed by a community of contributors; the sources reviewed name no company behind it and no vendor-hosted service. Because you operate the server and agents, source code, build logs and secrets remain on infrastructure you choose, including within the EU.
