Zabbix is an open-source platform for monitoring IT and OT infrastructure. It monitors cloud environments, networks, servers, containers, VMware, databases, applications and IoT devices, among others, with monitoring templates and integrations such as webhooks. Organisations use it to follow availability and performance from a single view. Zabbix is available as a free on-premise installation on your own infrastructure, as managed SaaS (Zabbix Cloud) and on public clouds such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
Zabbix was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Latvia, with offices in the United States, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and France, among others. From version 7.0 the software is released under the AGPLv3; earlier versions up to 6.4 used the GPLv2. Because the source code is public and Zabbix can be self-hosted, a European organisation can keep monitoring data entirely under its own control. The website does not state which region Zabbix Cloud runs in.
