Lookeen GmbH is an owner-managed, independent company based in Karlsruhe, Germany, which says it develops the software in Germany. Because the software runs on infrastructure chosen by the customer, the sovereignty question depends mainly on the deployment, not on a vendor cloud. The vendor says it meets GDPR requirements, but these are its own statements and have not been independently verified. European organisations can keep the index within their own environment, and should check the vendor's private-cloud terms if that option is chosen.
