Publik is a free, modular platform that lets citizens and public administrations simplify their interactions. Its core is citizen relationship management and appointment booking (GRU), complemented by business applications built on workflows and forms, for example Publik Famille for municipal family services. According to its makers it is natively connected to FranceConnect, the French digital identity service. A catalogue of freely available procedures and a user club of local authorities exist around it.
Publik is developed by Entr'ouvert, a cooperative company in Paris. The software is free under the GNU GPL (version 2 or later). Entr'ouvert delivers Publik only as SaaS: the infrastructure runs on physical machines at the French hosting provider OVH, and the company states that it respects the GDPR and guarantees reversibility of both data and code. A SaaS variant certified for hosting health data (HDS) is also offered. You can therefore inspect the code, but the offering itself is a hosted service.
