Third-party profiles describe folk as a Paris-based company. Its privacy policy, however, names Folk Inc., a Delaware corporation, as data controller for user and account data. The vendor states that its primary hosting runs on Amazon Web Services in Ireland and that data at rest is encrypted. Some sub-processors, for example for data enrichment, speech-to-text, billing and customer support, are located in the United States; for transfers outside the EU the vendor relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
