4me: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

4me, now branded Xurrent, is a cloud platform for IT service management and operational incident handling. It combines ITSM (service desk, workflow automation, SLA management and an AI virtual agent) with incident management and response (on-call scheduling and escalations, alert noise reduction, automated postmortems and status pages). The AI assistant Sera helps with ticket triage, closure and knowledge articles, and an MCP server lets external AI agents connect. It is delivered as SaaS for IT and service organisations.

Xurrent lists Santa Barbara, California, as its headquarters, with offices in Austin, London and Bengaluru, so the provider is US-based. Customers choose the hosting region, for example the European Economic Area, and Xurrent states that customer data is stored within the selected region and is neither stored nor transferred anywhere else. The platform runs solely on AWS. Xurrent reports ISO 27001, ISO 27018 and SOC 2 Type 2 certification and C5 attestation. A US provider on US infrastructure remains relevant for CLOUD Act assessment even when data is hosted in the EEA.

Why digital sovereignty matters with 4me

4me is headquartered in the United States. US vendors fall under the CLOUD Act and FISA 702: US authorities can compel access to data, even when that data sits in a European data centre. That is the core of the jurisdictional exposure in our model.

Data is hosted exclusively in the EU, so 4me scores best on data residency.

4me is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs 4me together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
