Jitsu is an open-source event data platform positioned as an alternative to Segment. It collects events from websites, apps and servers through SDKs or an HTTP API and delivers them to data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift and Postgres, and to other tools. JavaScript functions let you filter or enrich events, and the platform also offers connectors, an identity graph and live debugging. Jitsu is licensed under MIT and can be self-hosted, for example on Kubernetes with Helm. A managed cloud service run by Jitsu itself is also available.
Jitsu is offered by HV Acquisition Entity, Inc. According to its privacy policy, the website is hosted in the United States and collected information is processed on US servers. No EU region is documented for the managed cloud service. Organisations that want to keep data in Europe can run the open-source software on their own infrastructure, which gives them control over where events are stored and who can access them, without depending on the cloud service. The MIT licence permits this without usage restrictions.
